Jim Hiom, former Branch Secretary and later Branch President for the Milton Keynes City branch of GMB (amongst many other lay member roles in his years as a trade union activist), passed away on 20th October 2025, aged 74 years.
Jim, often supported by his wife Barbara (also a GMB lay official for many years), made an unparalleled contribution to the Milton Keynes City branch, in it’s development and by way of his tireless support for GMB members.
A true champion of the working class, Jim’s actions continue to inspire the work of our branch committee, reps, and activists.
Rest in power comrade!
